The Gunners signed David Luiz to strengthen their centre-back options in the summer, and alongside Sokratis Papapastathopoulos he has been a first-team regular this term.
Sokratis has made 26 appearances this campaign yet he has been talking about his future and a possible situation where he is not playing games, stating that he will leave the club if he finds himself in that position.
That is a big contrast to Mesut Ozil’s viewpoint, with his agent Dr Erkut Sogut suggesting last week that the German will definitely be staying in North London until his contract expires in summer 2021, and some fans alluded to that fact in response to Sokratis’ comments.
Aside from that, there has been a significant amount of supporters calling for the Greece international to leave the club, as they believe he hasn’t been good enough since he joined in 2018.

The 37 goals conceded in the 26 games he has played this term shows there is room for improvement, and that could lead Arteta to make changes ahead of his first full season in charge.
As a result, the calls for him to stay are minimal, and that suggests the 31-year-old needs to start showing more if he is going to win over the majority of the fanbase.
