The 2018 World Cup winner has stressed that he is yet to decide on his future despite having less than six months left on his contract at Paris Saint-Germain. Real Madrid remain long-time admirers of Mbappe, but it has been reported that the club will only submit a formal offer this month if they get a green signal from the player. However, their financial package is nowhere near the riches that PSG have put on the table for Mbappe. According to journalist Daniel Riolo, Mbappe is in line for a historic new contract at the Parc des Princes which can be matched by no other football club on the planet.

Speaking with , Riolo said: "In this story with Mbappe, you have to have clear ideas. On the one hand, we have an offer for him to extend, which is ancient Rome, ancient Greece, and the pyramids of Egypt given to a player. Something never seen before which will far exceed 100 million per season. So something that no club will ever be able to match. What is being offered to Mbappe by PSG is incredible.
"It will be with advantages for the brother, for the family, for everyone… the player agency that the mother wants to set up. Honestly, it’s incredible stuff. On the other side, we have something which is, I was going to say normal, to say that it’s normal when we talk about Real… So it’s a normal salary for football stars, we’re going to talk about 30 million and maybe a little more. And he’s not the king of the club. Basically, we bring him back down to Earth. Mbappe is in the middle and he has to choose between that."
GettyTHE BIGGER PICTURE
PSG remain hopeful that they will be able to tie Mbappe to fresh terms and stave off Real, with Riolo adding: "The data is there. If it’s money… He can just as well say that PSG also has sports because we will continue to make the team progress and continue the turn taken this summer, to consider winning with this PSG and not with Real who have already won tons. But the data, it must be said, on paper there is a gap that we've never seen. What is being offered to Mbappé by PSG is incredible."
The forward recently admitted that he has a transfer “agreement” with PSG which will "protect all the parties". Although Mbappe did not go into the details of the agreement, it is supposed that he had been referring to the loyalty bonus that he allegedly promised to give up if he left PSG.
WHAT NEXT?
It has been reported that Real Madrid are not ready to play the waiting game with Mbappe and will shift focus to alternative targets, with Erling Haaland emerging as another potential option. In the short term, Mbappe remains focused on his duties with PSG and will return to action against US Orleans on Saturday in the French Cup.
